Before Gerald created cartridges nothing existed in this style to allow videogames to be put into future consoles like the snes or megadrive or N64 as the last cartridges which can all be credited to a very smart talented programmer who was African man who sadly pasted away 2011 I think in general a lot of people don’t know about him he should be as famous as the Super Mario creator to me since he done a lot of good for the gaming community or without him we could possibly have none of the popular games of the 1990s we all have in rom or other forms today or 1980s bit as well for the gaming area.
He was born today on the 1 of December 1940 and was pioneer for videogames and was the director of engineer and marketing of Fairchild F System it was not popular gameconsole with under 30 games being sol for it over Atari making better system which basically did everything better tham and then Snes better again or Megadrive as well.
the way for future gaming systems like the Atari, SNES, Dreamcast and more.
In the 1980s Lawson left Fairchikld to form his own company called Videosoft of the first Black owned video game development businesses which they then made software for the Atari 2600 which was the console which replaced his creation/
In 1980, Lawson left Fairchild to start his own company, VideoSoft—one of the earliest Black-owned video game development companies. The company created software for the Atari 2600, which popularized the cartridge Lawson and his team developed.
To me the guy should got got his Award in the 1990s not when he’s passed away seems to be bit silly or bad when he done so much good for the gaming area we can all repect today.
Lawson setup a Fund to support the underrepresented Students who wish to do career as undergraduate or graduate degrees in game design or computer science and his success is memoorialized in the world videogame hall of Fame in Rochester New York
